The Baylor Angel Network is operated by Baylor University faculty, staff and students. BAN is part of the Hankamer School of Business and operates at the discretion of Dean David M. Szymanski.
Steven Diedrich

Steven Diedrich serves as the Executive Director of the Baylor Angel Network in the Hankamer School of business, where he oversees the program’s investment activities, alumni engagement, and student development. He also teaches in the Department of Finance, where he leads a two-year experiential practicum focused on early-stage investment and entrepreneurial finance.
Steven works closely with faculty, university leadership, and external partners to support innovation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and institutional advancement. He has contributed to efforts related to fund formation, donor engagement, and the integration of experiential learning into the undergraduate finance curriculum.
Prior to joining Baylor, Steven held roles in consulting, private investments, and early-stage real estate ventures. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and completed graduate studies at Texas A&M University.
Cara Lane Charlet

Cara Lane Charlet leads deal sourcing, investor relations, and network operations for the Baylor Angel Network. She is passionate about supporting founders, contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and developing the next generation of venture talent through the Baylor Angel Network’s experiential learning program.
Her background spans risk management and consumer finance at Goldman Sachs, high-growth tech and project management at TikTok, and a lifelong connection to entrepreneurship through multiple family-owned and operated retail businesses.
